The 5th Annual National Dance Day at Segerstrom Center

Segerstrom Center for the Arts will be hosting the 5th annual National Dance Day in partnership with American Dance Movement (ADM) on Saturday, September 17. The celebration begins at 1 p.m. and wraps up at 5 p.m. with Keaton Kermode and Anna Miller from So You Think You Can Dance leading the National Dance Day routine.

The Center will be teaming up with The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and The Raymond F. Kravis Center in a variety of official celebrations and community events across the country for this year’s National Dance Day.

Recognized by Congress as a national day of dance, NDD promotes dance as a form of valuable exercise and artistic expression. The West Coast celebration at Segerstrom Center for the Arts includes hands-on workshops from Broadway dance with Lauren Lim Jackson to inclusive dance and movement with Studio D: Arts School for All Abilities and a bilingual Latin dance workshop taught in English and Spanish with Lyrik Cruz.

Khan Saab Launches Fundraiser to Help Pakistan Flood Relief

Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen, a Michelin Bib Gourmand award winning 100% Halal eatery in Fullerton, has launched a fundraiser to support Pakistan flood relief, as more than one-third of the country is underwater. Every Tuesday, now through October 15th, the restaurant is donating 15% of all sales to help the victims, which have already numbered over 33 million people. 

Founder and executive chef Imran “Ali” Mookhi is a Pakistani immigrant himself, who came to the United States with the goal of elevating traditional Indian, Pakistani and Afghan cuisine alongside his team, many of whom are also immigrants of the Desi region. 

Innovative menu highlights include a Woodfired Bone-In Tomahawk steak of Australian wagyu beef, street food favorites such as Pomegranate Bhel Puri and Chili Roast Cheese Kulcha with Butter Sauce, and curries like the Shrimp Masala Curry with Black tiger shrimp, goan onion, and tomato.
